At
the final presentation for the CIC *** the crowd, competitors and officials made their way
up the hill, took a last glance out over the breathtaking ocean landscape before gathering
in the courtyard of the stately Spray Farm homestead, for the unmounted presentation
ceremony.
This was a presentation to
remember, a trio played their music in the corner of the splendid courtyard, which was
covered to ensure that no one got wet. It was a gathering that broke down age barriers and
bought everyone together to congratulate the winners.
It made very good sense to have
an unmounted presentation as the organisers were able to take advantage of the generosity
of David and Vivian Browne who own Spray Farm and opened their magnificent property for
this event and allowed the final presentation to be held in this lovely part of their
home. This format enabled riders to mix with the sponsors, spectators and other
people, rather than rushing off with their horse.
The music was a lovely touch and
young Georgia Browne (daughter of David's Son Matthew) delighted us with her dance,
partnered by her 'bananas in pyjamas' doll.
Russell Withers the recently
appointed Chairman of the EFA (National) took
over the microphone and ensured that the formalities and acknowledgments were perfect.
The main name sponsor for this event is Audi and Patrick Collins, the Marketing
Manager for Audi spoke of the company's involvement with the event for the past three
years. |
