Equimec   Competition 10 -  Intertermediate 1  - Sunday 28th Oct. - Page 2
The competition in the Intermediate 1 ring continues ... in starting order
inter1richmeedm1.jpg (19189 bytes) The impeccably bred Richmeed Medallion is by May Sherif (sire of Sven Rothenberger's Andiamo and Matador who was ridden to World Cup victory by the wonderful Finish rider Kyra Kyrklund)

Medallion is owned by Heath Ryan and ridden by Leesa Robinson.  He is pictured here having his geat check.

inter1richmeedm2.jpg (16722 bytes) Leesa Robinson did a great job with just a few areas which need improvement.  Richmeed Medallion finished with a score of 59.15% and 8th position.
inter1grandien1.jpg (18655 bytes) Grandien and Roonie Weeks cam from South Australia be be part of the action.  She had a terrible campaign - her lovely grey Daktakapo (Daktylus/Gina) picked up something in his foot and was lame - she did not get to ride him ...

and Grandien was not 100% and did not want to drink.  He was under daily Veterinary care.

inter1grandien2.jpg (14067 bytes) Grandien is a super type ... Cleveland Bay cross by Osberton Goliath from Iownit.

Roonie did a good job to keep him together
but, in this company it was a struggle.  We all understand the disappointments of horses!

Their score was disappointing as they had a good lead up to this competition.

inter1kudu1.jpg (14783 bytes) Maurice Bruce on the wonderful Neversfelde Kudu - I could watch them all day.

Kudu is by the imported Trakehner stallion Kassiber and from the Thoroughbred mare Space Hostess.

It was a fluent, expressive and well ridden test with no real faults.  They won the Intermediate 1 Champsionship with a score of 65.50%

inter1kudu2.jpg (12867 bytes) Kudu in action - Maurice and Jane Bruce bred the mare,  which would make her great success very satisfying.
inter1kudu3.jpg (18196 bytes) Neversefelde Kudu is always well engaged and very active - without these qualities the judges are reluctant to give high marks.

Congratulations to Maurice and Kudu - who now add the National Intermediate 1 Championship to their already impressive list of achievements.

inter1kepler1.jpg (15510 bytes) Bellambrae Kepler was bred in Balhannah in South Australia and Libby purchased him when she lived there and Kepler was a youngster.  She now resides in Queensland.

Kepler is by the imported Trakehner stallion Copernicus and out of the mare Regal Quartet.

There are three full brother os this breeding now competing at FEI - Malachite, Bellembrae Zircon and of course,  Kepler.

inter1kepler2.jpg (14650 bytes) Regal Quartet competed until she was 20,  and then had Malachite at aged 21.  This wonderful mare had 9 foals to aged 30.

I owned Malachite and trained him to PSG (this is why I know the story)

Libby did a lovely job with Kepler to finish in 10th position with a percentage of 57.03%

inter1frohlich1.jpg (14096 bytes) Frohlich by Falkrich from the Monopol mare, Monodet.  This powerfully built mare is owned by Zoe Andrews, and was very capably ridden by Matthew Dowsley.

She shows great talent in the collected work, and this ability is sure to take her on to Grand Prix.

inter1frohlich2.jpg (24113 bytes) Frohlich and Matthew's test was flowing and forward ... and they were rewarded with 4th place on 63.15%
