VASA 2002 SADDLE HORSE CHAMPIONSHIPS
Royal Melbourne Horse Show - 6th January 2001
Champion Large Saddle Pony
over 12.2 and not over 14 hands - Page 2 |
|
This
class continues with the most beautiful collection of Large Saddle Ponies. |

Langtree Gold Pass continues the
Stud's tradition of great quality riding ponies. This is another of Jan Langley's beautiful ponies - I must say that I found
the rider's long hair a little untidy at this kind of event ... |

Langtree Gold Pass - he lacked a
little softness in his work - but still a lovely pony. |

Morningside Step Ahead and
Justine James, put together a most pleasing workout ... |
![lpfinal4372.jpg (20911 bytes)](lpfinal4372.jpg) |
Morningside Step Ahead started
his show career in Western Australia (so I thought that I would put in an extra pic, so
that they could see how he went) The pony is
owned by Dianne Orchard, and this win will be a wonderful tonic for Di, who has had
her fair share of sadness in recent years. |

Well done...
They were the winners of this class.Justine
dedicated the win to Di's daughter Joanne, who passed away at far too young an age, and
was an excellent rider and well respected show competitor. |

Toy Town of Astral was ridden by
2001 Garryowen winner Margot Haynes from South Australia. |
![lpfinal4462.jpg (21228 bytes)](lpfinal4462.jpg) |
Toy Town of Astral was nominated
by Miss NE Parsons. It was a nice
workout but lacked the flair necessary to stand out in this strong field. |
![lpfinal5431.jpg (20451 bytes)](lpfinal5431.jpg) |
Finkley Princess Royal (Imp)
was ridden by Amy Stewart. |
![lpfinal5432.jpg (17795 bytes)](lpfinal5432.jpg) |
Finkley Princess Royal (Imp) -
who has a stable name of Stephanie, worked well but was above the bit at times - spoiling
her flowing lines, that the judges would have been looking for. |
