  Competition 9 - Prix St Georges -  Sat. 27th Oct. - Page 3

The Prix St. Georges continues ...

psgmfduart.jpg (21065 bytes) MF Duart and Wendy Ward - her strong  Cleveland Bay is by Emperor Oberon from the mare Flossatina.

Wendy did a great job and the horse demonstrated very good rhythm and self carriage.

They scored 61.35% for 7th place.

psgspecedit1.jpg (18458 bytes) About to enter for their PSG test is Narelle Telling and Special Edition 68 - by the imported stallion Leonardo 68.

psgspecedit2.jpg (25843 bytes) Special Edition 68 and Narelle worked very nicely, but like so many others had not quite realised just HOW forward the judges want to see the work.

This is the big difference in dressage today, from the sport 5 - 10 years ago!

They scored 56.00% for 19th place.

psgivegotrhythm.jpg (16865 bytes) I've Got Rhythm and Anne Behringer.  This is a very elegant Thoroughbred by Kongs Island.

The test contained some very nice moments, but some of the transitions were not so good and would have taken marks from both movements.

They scored 55.25% for 20th place.

psgglencoa1.jpg (16968 bytes) Young Rider Karen Bell on the lovely Aachen horse - Glencoe Aathens.

Karen did a great job over the entire competition - and although she did not win the PSG - it was a fantastic performance ... for a very pleasing result.

psgglencoeath.jpg (15494 bytes) Glencore Aathens and Karen Bell scored 60.55% for 8th place -

A big pat on the back for this hard working young rider who travelled all the way from Queensland to be part of the 2001 National Championships.

psgmontez3.jpg (17798 bytes) Another Young Rider giving the 'oldies' something to think about,  is Tabitha Fisher from NSW.

Tabitha is so lucky to have a wonderful horse like Montezuma, as he is very special.  He is from an Anglo/Arab mare and by the Monopol stallion Montora.

psgmontez2.jpg (17740 bytes) Tabitha has had a wonderful year with Monty and their second place in this competition would surely be a highlight.

The scored 65.15% - Very well done Tabitha and Monty.

psgoctavius1.jpg (15391 bytes) Ex Tassy girl, Kate Boyes and Octavius of Neika.  Kate has been in Victoria for a few years now, and has spent some time with Andrew McLean and more recently Mary Hanna.

She has now set up her own training business, and is based at beautiful Hidden Valley.  She is enjoying great success with the horses she works.

psgoctavius2.jpg (12558 bytes) Kate is a very talented rider who started out eventing - she is now hooked on dressage, and has put in the work required to get her Cleveland Bay bred gelding to the very high standard that is required to place third in PSG.

They scored 64.85% - well done Kate.
