        Victorians Judy
        Smith and Killuna. This lovely
gelding is by Kilof McOhl and was bred by Glenda Bullen who lives near Whittlesea. |

          |
        Killuna and Judy
did a great job overall,  but mistakes in the changes and a lack of forward energy
kept the score down, on this occasion. Like
so many, Judy will re-think her training strategies, and work towards improving the weak
        areas.
They scored 56.85% and came in at 16th. |

          |
        Kings Warrier and
Maree Tomkinson - another Victorian competitor. Kings Warrier is a very tall horse, and takes quite some riding to
keep together!   Maree is doing very well to have him up at this high level, but the
        test lacked polish!
        They scored 55.05% for 23rd place. |

          |
        Bellambrae Kepler
and Libby Welsh from Queensland.  Kepler is by Copernicus from the wonderful mare TB
Regal Quartet (she evented and showjumped until she was 20, and then had 9 foals!) She is the dam of three FEI Dressage horses -
Malachite (who I owned and trained to FEI) Bellambrae Zircon and of course ... Kepler. |

          |
        Libby &
Kepler did a very nice test - it was obedient and flowing - although some anticipation in
the walk would have been costly - they scored 59.40% for 10th place - and ... at the
Nationals, this is a great effort. |

          |
        Neversfelde Kascade
is the gorgeous older  full brother of the winner of this class - Neversfelde Kudu. Owner/rider Amanda Crestani did nothing wrong, but the
very hot and reactionary Kascade did not want to play ball, and they ended up at the other
end of the placings with 51.70% |

          |
        The
winner of the class was Neversfelde Kudu and Maurice Bruce.  Kudu is everything that
I would hope to see in a dressage horse.  She is elegant, a great mover and has such
lightness and self carriage. - she dances!! She was bred by Maurice and Jane  Bruce and is by Kassiber (Trak)
from a Thoroughbred mare Space Hostess. |

          |
        Maurice
told me a long time ago, of the 'early tricks' that the young Kudu got up to!!!
Their success today is a great tribute to Maurie's skill and patience and the
        horse's confidence in him. It
was a well deserved win with a score of 65.85%
        Congratulations! |

          |
        Roonie
Weeks and Grandien - from South Australia.  Grandien is a great type with Cleveland
        Bay in his breeding. Roonie
said that he had not handled the trip well, and was under daily vet care to ensure that he
        did not dehydrate. |

          |
        It is
hard to do your best work with the horse not 100% fit, or not in good health.   Roonie and Grandien struggled under these
circumstances.  There were also a few problems in the canter work and they scored
        55.15% for = 21st place. |

          |
        Neversfelde
Swingtime and Shaun France,  this handsome horse was bred by Maurice & Jane
Bruce, and is by the Dutch bred stallion Salute. Much of the test looked quite nice with lovely uphill carriage.
The canter pirouettes appeared to lack adequate  preparation and as they carry a
co-effieicne this would have bought the score down.  54.40% for 25th place. |
