Down to the final competitor - Maurice Bruce on the gorgeous
Neversfelde Kudu. It is great to see Kudu back on top as she over-indulged in the
clover paddock twelve months ago and foundered. The Bruce's obviously got on to the
problem straight away and were able to prevent any serious and permanent damage - what a
relief!
Kudu is back to her best and
this wonderful performance was a highlight of the 2001 National Dressage Championships.
Neversfelde Kudu
and Maurice Bruce - This very special mare is always a joy to watch.
Kudu danced to the
'tinkley' trot music ... that suited her so well. Maurie chose a ragtime beat for
the walk.
Kudu seemed to
float to the canter music which had lots of tympany, drums and recorder, which highlighted
the horse's rhythm and expression.
It
was well deserved and fantastic score - 72.78% and a clear win for Maurie and Kudu.
Kudu is held for
the presentation by Jane Bruce.'
Maurice
and Jane bred the gorgeous mare and this would make her success more rewarding.
Kudu dances around
the arena in her lap of honour.
I did not get a
picture of the second placegetter - Montezuma, or the third Richmeed Medallion This
is Iwan - and Anne Barber - they placed 4th in this event.
Libby Welsh from
Queensland and Bellambrae Kepler were 6th in this event.
