Competition 7 - Advanced 5E - Friday 25th Oct.
- Page 3 |
The Advanced 5E has been a very varied class ao far, with some
horses clearly demonstrating the potential to go on to FEI. These horses have been
well trained in accordance with the principals of the 'German Training Scale'.
I found it very interesting to compare the work of horses correctly trained,
from those which carried forward deficiencies from this early work. |

Accomplished event
rider Natalie Blundell on Billy Bathgate proved their versatility with a solid performance
in this ring. Billy is a
Thoroughbred who would spend much of his time under saddle at much faster speeds than he
was able to achieve today.
It was a well ridden test for 58.96% and 11th
position - very well done! |

McCauley Connor and
Margaret Taylor
here at X, about to commence. This
horse can do it all but lacked the suppleness and flow that earns the marks. |
![5emccauleyc2.jpg (15188 bytes)](5emccauleyc2.jpg) |
Margaret seemed to
enjoy her ride and will go home and seek to learn from the experience. Weaknesses in the overall activity and flow will need
to be the focus of future training - Good luck Margaret. A score of 52.29% saw them
well down the placings. |

Belcam Gaucho and
Glennis Barrey did a very nice test in this ring. Gaucho is an outstanding type, by
the imported stallion Grannus ll from an imported mare, Otrichta. Gaucho is strongly built, and has no real difficulty
keeping rhythm. |
![5egaucho3.jpg (18769 bytes)](5egaucho3.jpg) |
Belcam Gaucho did
get a little tight in the neck from time to time, but was well ridden for a pleasing
result by international rider
Glennis Barrey.They
finished in second place with a score of 66.56% - Congratulations Glennis - a great
result! |

Special Edition 68
and Narelle Telling. This lovely gelding is by the stallion Leonardo 68 who was
imported by the rider featured above - Glennis Barrey. Epecial Edition 68 worked very well and shows great
promise. They scored 60.83% for 8th placing. There was less than 8% between
Narelle and the winner - so a much better placing is completely possible for this
combination! |

Pictured left
(again) are the winners of the Advanced 5E class. Rodney Martin on Victorian horse Belcam Aarchon (Ullie). This
lovely horse is by Aachen from the Falkland mare Fama.
His owner/rider Emmie Schmul is very busy
with business activities, and could not be in Sydney to ride. Her good mate Rodney
took over, and did a super job.
They scored 67.50%. |
