  Competition 7 - Advanced 5E - Friday   25th Oct. - Page 2

The competition on the main Olympic arena contiues in the 5E class.   Here are some more of the tests.

5ekelarachablis1.jpg (15201 bytes) Jodie Dunstan and Kelara Chablis are listed as living in NSW.  She lives quite near the  border, and is a frequent visitor to Victorian dressage competitions.

She puts a great deal into her riding, and this experience would be of great value to her many dressage students.

Jodie scored 68.23% on her Arabian/Warmblood gelding.  The horse was bred by Victorian A Level judge Robert Hammond.

5elynwoodgenesis1.jpg (19830 bytes) Lynwood Genesis and Lauren George travelled from Queensland to take part in these Championships.  An associate of Lauren's told me that her horse has been working just so well, but he just did not seem to handle the trip and/or the excitement of the competition.  This would be a great disappointment for Lauren, but the experience is all part of the learning curve required to make it in the top ranks of Australian Dressage.
5elynwoodgenesis2.jpg (16962 bytes) Lynwood Genesis showed some lovely moments in both of his Advanced tests, but was not able to keep the standard consistent.

Lauren finished well down with a score of 54.06% and will no doubt reflect on the experience and try to address the weaknesses.  Good luck Lauren - hope to see you on top next year.

5eaphsuzette1.jpg (17843 bytes) APH Suzette with owner/rider Alison Dent is an attractive Trakehner mare by Zwion.

This is a nice combination but the work did not seem established enough to take on the challenge of a meeting with the best in the Country.

5eaphsuzette2.jpg (14769 bytes) APH Suzette need to work on devel0ping the collection and self carriage as the little bit that I saw was lacking in this area.

The score was 53.85% for a position well down.

5earvie1.jpg (16909 bytes) I got to see Arvie and young Sally Dowsett work several times during the four days at Horsley Park.   Sally ttok part in the Young Rider Challenge which means that she is quite justified in lacking years of experience and the polish that goes with time.

I thought that this was a very accomplished duo with lots of potential - I hope Sally can relax and enjoy the good  ...and not be too self critical, as she appeared to be when I spoke to her following one of her rides.

5earvie2.jpg (13674 bytes) Sally Dowsett and Arvie - the horse is an Abdalusian cross mare by Jocoso and has lovely self carriage and collection.

They scored 58.65% - which was a good attempt at this high level - Good luck Sally.

5ewisdom1.jpg (14626 bytes) Wisdom and Ann Serrao not only looked good but worked the same way.  This handsome black gelding is by Winterkoenig and from the mare D'Tosca.

He is just 8 years old so has a bright future ahead.

5ewisdom2.jpg (18860 bytes) Ann Serrao and Wisdom achieved a score of 61.67% and 7th placing in this competition.

Ann also rode her gorgeous chestnut Centaur in the Grand Prix CDI-W.

5egroover1.jpg (17152 bytes) Groover and Sally Latona demonstrated lovely balance and self carriage in the Advanced 5E - and these were the qualities that gained marks.

This attractive horse is a Thoroughbred by Clinton John.

They scored 61.77% for 6th place.
