The
Only Equine Allwormer
An Effective Drenching Program
To control all of the parasites which can affect your horse, you will need :-
The New South Wales Department of Agriculture has a general recommendation that consideration be given to worming horses every two months (eight weeks) but varied according to the specific needs of the horse e.g. young foals and pregnant mares and the seasonal nature of worm prevalence.
Virbac recommends this sound program,
incorporating within it treatment leading to the prevention of
tapeworms and bots. Maximum coverage against all worms and bots
can be achieved by the use of Equimax in the following program.
Use of Equimax at the beginning and end of the main tapeworm and
bot season (May and September) will ensure maximum efficacy. For
strongyles the control program involves Equimax treatment at the
beginning and end of the peak strongyle season. Another wormer
such as Virbac's Equiminth can be used in alternation with
Equimax during the period of high strongyle infestation.
Important Note
Pregnant mares should be treated on the day of foaling and then should be placed on a clean paddock.
Horse weights should be accurately determined to maximise the efficacy of the drench program.
Sound management practices should be always carried out in conjunction with the suggested program.
