First of the final ten to work was Langtree Royal Heiress,
ridden by Zoe Kuttner.
It was a foot perfect workout which set a high standard for others to follow. |
|
|
Zoe Wells on Silkwood Heavens Above were next. This
pony was not quite forward enough and seemed a little resistant into bridle. It is a
big job for a young rider, but at this top level the pony's outline and impulsion make all
the difference. Heavens above was beautifully presented. |

Attractive
mare - Newington Fine Art ridden by Bree Roberts gave a great performance. A quality
pony with beautiful movement and conformation - they were the runners-up in this class. |

|
Narelle Somerville and Viewbank Boyd. This very
successful combination were impressive and polished and included a flying change in their
canter work. I am sure the keen crowd were wondering how the judge would separate them to
find a winner. |

A favourite of mine is the beautifully marked Langtree Jean Pierre. He
was very nicely ridden by Shelley McGuiness who had a busy time at Hidden Valley.
She showed great skill in her riding of horses in all size classes. |
Julie Gittoes - Judge. |
The Championships were held indoors last year. This year they were conducted
out on the lawn area with unrestricted space and a fantastic atmosphere - I thought this
was a very positive change in the programming. |
