HIDDEN VALLEY EQUESTRIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS
Northern Highway, Wallan
Sat. 25th & Sun. 26th January, 2003
Open Large Ponies - Final Round
Highlights - Page 2
With half the large ponies having completed their workout
for the Championship, the standard has been outstanding with very little between this
quality field. Hidden Valley has certainly become a prestigious event - and while it
is a small competition, it attracts the very best horses.
Mirinda
Mardi Gras and tiny Laura Elliot were next to go. I love to watch Laura ride as she
sits nicely and influences her pony correctly. Mardi Gras looked lovely - well done
Laura.
Morningside
Step Ahead and Justine James - another beautiful pony - so well presented and
prepared for this event.
Beauparc
Parisienne ridden for J James by David Ward. Another well presented pony who worked
very well and would have given the judges something to consider.
Rosslyn
Riverdancer the imported pony that went on to become the 2003 Hidden Valley Champion.
This pony is exquisite with a dainty head, perfect conformation, flowing paces and
a tractable temperament for the job of show horse. Olivia Petty owns and rides this
pony and the Large Pony Championships comes after her win in the Small Pony Class on
Malibu Park Coco.
Well done Olivia - it goes without saying that your success if not good luck - just
hard work!
The Runner up was Newington Fine Art
ridden by Bree Roberts.
