Open Galloways - Preliminary Round
Highlights - Page 2
The Open Galloway Preliminary round continues and each of
the entries so far would have been capable of winning. It is very nice to see the
standard of education so much better than a few years ago. Most of these horses
appeared to be happy and calm and accepting the riders' influence without any problems.
Commonella
Folk Dance a very nice jet black mare ridden by L Niewland. They put in a very nice
performance and looked striking against the greenery of Hidden Valley.
A keen crowd gathered to watch the
Galloway Preliminaries
There were a few omissions in the
program and one was the name of Sheree Lee's lovely bay
Next
out was Michael Christie on his
galloway partner Highrove Mitsouko.
Mitsouko was not as settled and polished as I have seen at
other shows and he showed his bright character with a few unwanted surges of energy in his
canter work.
Dooley
Park Childsplay follows on from Highrove Mitsouko and rider A Gall runs through the
workout with Michael Christie. Childsplay worked kindly and his black coat was
without flaw.
Kirreway
Zaradine was not always 100% happy with his bit and bridle. This slightly spoilt the
overall appearance, but this was a small consideration. He was well presented and
had nice manners and the work was well executed.
Chelsea
Carbury on Port Wine (Tiffany) get the final look over from judge Melissa Ovens. It
was great to see this lovely galloway out in the show ring as she spent almost a
year of her early life with me at Hollybrook Stud. She has matured into a lovely
horse, but I felt that she needed to go a little more forward today. Congratulations
Chelsea.
