Page 4 - Stallion Parade
Part of the fund raising activities undertaken by the AWHA
was an auction of stallion service fees. Many members who own stallions
generously donated a service to their horse. There was also a stallion parade, even
though not all of the stallions that took part are yet standing at public stud. All
of the owners are to be commended on the presentation and turnout of their stallions. and
for me, it was a thrill to see some horses which have not yet been out in competition.
Leading
Victorian dressage rider Emma Youngman on her delightful black imported stallion Rasputin.
The horse is just 9 years old and already
doing great Grand Prix. He has wowed and dazzled everyone with his maturity and
great temperament and
Emma and
Rasputin are real 'chances' for selection to represent Australia for the World Equestrian
Games in Spain in September this year - Good Luck Emma and Rasputin.
Frambeau by
Werther and from the State Premium Stud mare Garde. This horse is really something
.. so light and well balanced, Maree obviously loves riding him and he has started
the changes and is showing nice collection.
Frambeau
and Maree Tomkinson - a very attractive picture.
I cannot remember seeing such a beautiful
dapple grey in quite a while.
Dario Fo by
Don Gregory (by Donnerhall) and from the Feiner Stern mare Firedance.
Now this stallion really engages well.
He is led here by Manolo Mandez who is showing him for owners Ruth & Bob Piper.
Warrantor
made life for a photographer very difficult - darting around athletically, I just could
not keep up and my poor camera had no time to adjust the focus.
This lovely strong stallion was imported from
Germany and stands in Kinglake for Andre and Sandra Baljeu.
Prince Noir
- the very elegant import by Prince Thatch. He was ridden earlier in the Dressage by
owner Dr. Barbara Burrows and here Sarah McDonald takes the reins.

Emma
Youngman on Magritte show some very powerful Grand Prix movements.
This horse - another import - is one of three
Grand Prix horses owned by Emma. She kindly donated two services today (Rasputin and
Magritte)

Walton and
Maree Tomkinson. This young imported stallion is by the legendary Weltmeyer and a
great asset to the Australian breeding industry.
Maree is training him and has high hopes for
his dressage career which she will combine with his breeding activities.
Walton
stretches out and shows his lovely extended trot.
All of the stallions were very well behaved in
the rather busy atmosphere of the indoor arena at Werribee.
