These are just some of the
people who made the competition happen or were there to enjoy it. |
Caroline Leiutenant (left) the Assistant National Coach
for RDA and Judy Cubitt Chief Scorer and
Chef d'Equipe (to name just two of the many jobs !) |
Catherine Shelley Victorian riding instructor, along
with
Sally Frances the Victorian State Coach for RDA
and Margaret Behan the RDA Melton Co-Ordinator. |
Fiona Gross a great supporter - generously loaned her
lovely mare OP Fleur (ridden by Jodie Brazier NSW)
Fleur carried the Olympic torch at the Sydney 2000
Paralympics (Parallel to Olympics) |
Karin Davis - part owner of the wonderful Mighty Heights.
Karin is a very generous supporter of all horse sports and
is always ready to do her best. |
Rex Skinner was the Chief Steward - all weekend.
A very demanding job ... but I never saw him without
a smile on his face and a cheery word - well done Rex!! |
Judy Hogan from WA on my wonderful Arabian
Warmblood gelding, Hollybrook Boston. Judy made this
competition a special experience. I would like to
congratulate her on the fantastic result. 71.33% is going to be
difficult for me to keep up with, but I will try !!! |
A level Dressage Judge Jan Geary from NSW.
Jan works very hard promoting the sport of Dressage - well done. |
Janine Shepherd (NSW) and Judy Hogan (WA)
Great competitors and great mates. They both look
glamorous even with 'hat hair' !!!Before
her accident Janine was on the
Australian Ski team and training for the cross country event in
Calgary, Canada. A horrific truck accident in the Blue
Mountains left
her with almost every bone in her small body broken and internal injuries ...
and very bleak future prospects. Janine
demonstrated her tenacity and
'can do/will do' attitude by defeating the odds and becoming an
aerobatics flying instructor. She then married, and had the three
children that she 'could never' have! Janine's children are
the ones
responsible for her interest in riding.
Janine has written the books Dare to Fly, Reaching for Stars,
and Never Tell me Never - which has been made into a
movie starring Claudia Carvin (who plays Janine)
Janine Shepherd's books are available from all good book
stores ...
and I am assured (not by Janine) that they are an excellent read !!!
