More of the Medium

Tamboritha and Sally McPherson
who was originally from Victoria. Tamboritha is by Winder and from a truly beautiful
mare called Gemma. I did not
see most of the test, but what I did see looked quite nice. They must have made some
errors or have retired, as the score was not registered in the records. |

HP Lupin (Holstein Park) and
Cassie Tucker from NSW. There were some nice parts of the test but it was obviously
not secure enough to get them into the top placings. Cassie is a young rider and will be sure to gain much
from the experience of competing at the National Championships. |

HP Lupin (Holstein Park) and
Cassie Tucker finished with a score of 56.86% |

I especially wanted to see this
Medium test by the imported gelding Greenoaks Legend. I sincerely believe that his Medium 4E, ridden the
previously day is the best test at this level (arguably at any level!) that I have ever
seen ridden in Australia - it was truly sensational.
I was not in the judges seat, and I
understand that when you are following each and every movement, your opinion may
differ from the spectators, who are more selective about the performance and it's
hypothetical score.
However I thought that it was a clear 10%
better than anything else in that test, and the marks did not reflect this. I cannot
help but think that we judges do not give the good horses enough marks! |

Greenoaks Legend and Heath Ryan
- the Medium 4F was definately not as good as the Medium 4E which they won the previous
day. Owner Clyde Wunderwald has
high hopes for this horse representing Australia some time in the future - and I am sure
je will not be disappointed.

Making a majestic departure ...
is Heath Ryan, and the outstanding imported liver chestnut gelding Greenoaks Legend.
They just scored 65.49% for this test which was not quite up to yesterday's great
standard. The horse is by Le
Beau a little known German stallion who mostly sires showjumpers. Le Beau is now in
Canada. |
The
eventual winner of the Medium 4F was Queensland rider Paula Price on her lovely
Trakehner/TB cross APH True Seville. He is by the TB stallion Meriville from Samland
- the dam of Solo ll and APH Socrates. They scored 67.47%. Second was Greenoaks Dundee an imported gelding by
Duntroon, ridden by Heath Ryan on 66.57% and third was Greenoaks Legend, also ridden by
Heath Ryan with 65.49% |
