Java Siang a Promising Stayer for Desert Sun
Promising Desert Sun mare Java Siang resumed last Saturday
with a slashing first up win at Hastings over (1600m).
Trained by Roger James, Java Siang is out of the Sir
Tristram mare Mi T ristena, and carries two stains of the great Sir Ivor 4f x 3f. Java
Siang was stakesplaced in her last preparation in the Listed Great Autumn Classic at
Riccarton (2500m) and looks to be on target to claim a stakes win this preparation.
This Sir Ivor double up is also found in Desert Suns
Group 2 winning mare Moralee, who is out of the Grosvenor mare Mazis Chambertin, whilst
the promising John Wheeler trained 3yo Harrier Run also carries two lines of Sir Ivor
through the Ivory Hunter (by Sir Ivor) mare Ivorine. It appears Desert Sun has a healthy
liking for daughters carrying Sir Ivor, which is in plentiful supply through Sir Tristram
and his numerous sons including Grosvenor, Sovereign Red, El Qahira etc |
