25/09/00 Cyberhorse Launches New On-Line Racing Publication
The leading Australian portal site for horse sports,
Cyberhorse, today launches its latest initiative - The Virtual Racing Chronicle - an
online publication devoted to Australian and international coverage of thoroughbred
racing, punting and breeding. The new publication adds to Cyberhorse's existing content
which includes :-
- The Virtual FormGuide - comprehensive
formguides for all Australian TAB meetings provided 7 days a week.
- The Virtual Saleyard - listings of horses
for sale, with over 2800 horses currently in the database.
- The Virtual Equestrian - an online
publication for equestrian followers, with departments for dressage, showjumping, eventing
and showing.
The new publication has been in development for over 6
months and builds on the business model developed by Cyberhorse since its inception in
1996. Webmaster and Chronicle editor, Bill Saunders, explained that "Its clear that
content based Internet businesses cannot survive on providing high quality material for
free. One way or the other it has to be paid for. We have specialised in building up a
highly targetted audience in the horse industry and providing them with material which
changes daily to ensure they keep returning. This in turn encourages advertisers, who are
impressed by the cost effective method that Cyberhorse provides for them to reach their
clients".
The Chronicle will provide extra interest to Cyberhorse
readers who have already made the site one of the top 20 sports web sites in Australia. It
draws extensively on the practical racing industry experience of Bill Saunders and his
wife Berni, who run Cyberhorse from their thoroughbred stud at Toolern Vale, Victoria. |
