Mike Moroney's extraordinary season has continued with the Flemington-based trainer now in contention for five monthly awards for the 2001 Fred Hoysted Award - Victoria's premier award for racehorse trainers.

Moroney was one of eleven trainers to receive votes for the June nomination for the award as released this week by the Australian Trainers' Association. Moroney has also received votes for the August, November, February and March awards.

Those to receive votes for Trainer Training Performance were :-

Daryl Archard For Western Magic's win at Moonee Valley on June 6
Gary Carson For Leading Bounty's victory in the Trevor Clarke Steeplechase at Flemington on June 9
Jim Houlahan For the three wins of Classic Prince which included the jumps double - the Lachal Hurdle and Australian Hurdle - and a win on the flat
Bradley Marzato For the two Moonee Valley wins of ex-NSW galloper Notation
Brendan McCarthy For preparing Regal Shot for two outstanding wins at Sandown
Michael Moroney For preparing promising stayer Maythehorsebewithyou to two wins at Flemington
Eric Musgrove For Worthy Knight's victory in the Australian Steeplechase
Michael O'Leary For Scenic Garden's victory in Silver Bowl Final at Moonee Valley after a Class 3 win at Swan Hill
Mick Price For bringing Chattanooga back from a bleeding attack for two Flemington wins in heats of the Winter Championship
Vern Proctor For versatile galloper Walk On Ice's wins in the Swan Hill Cup and at Moonee Valley
Graeme Rogerson For preparing Mr Royston to win a city double at Flemington
