Mike Moroney's
extraordinary season has continued with the Flemington-based trainer now in contention for
five monthly awards for the 2001 Fred Hoysted Award - Victoria's premier award for
racehorse trainers. Moroney was one of eleven
trainers to receive votes for the June nomination for the award as released this week by
the Australian Trainers' Association. Moroney has also received votes for the August,
November, February and March awards.
