In a thrilling
finish to the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale in Sydney, Collingrove Stud pipped out Coolmore
to take the covetted honour of the vendor with the highest price lot. Close to the end of the last day, Coolmore looked to have the sale
topper all stitched up when Lot 491, their Danehill - Red Express brother to champion mare
Dane Ripper sold for $1,050,000.
The title was theirs until literally the second last lot of
the sale, Lot 504 went into the ring. An enthralled crowd saw the Danehill - Rossignol
half-brother to Schubert knocked down to BBA Ireland for the sale topping sum $1.1
million.
To say that Collingrove Marketing Manager, Jenny McAlpine
was thrilled, would be an understatement. "We're all celebrating here" was all
she could say when asked for comment.
The Danehill colt topped off an excellent sale for
Collingrove with a sale gross in excess of A$3 million. He comes from a female family long
nurtured by the Sangster family, tracing back to top producer Audrey Joan. |
