WANTED MEDIUM OR ABOVE DRESSAGE HORSES |
Two members of the Paralympic Equestrian
Shadow Squad are appealing for horses to ride in the National Championships for riders
with Disabilities to be held at Werribee on 19th, 20th and 21st
May. Both riders are classified Grade 4 (the least disabled) and both have trained and compete their own horse at Advanced EFA level. Judy Hogan comes from WA and to bring her own horse from there is out of the question financially. Judy was born without a hand on her right arm and simply wraps the rein around the base of her arm. Sue-Ellen Lovett, who is partially sighted, would be well known for the marvellous fundraising rides she has done up and down the Eastern Seaboard and once again the cost of taking her own stallion from Dubbo is not financially possible. If chosen to ride in the Paralympic Games, both riders would have to ride a pool horse, so all chances to ride new horses is an actual advantage as that is part of the selection criteria. If anyone has a horse of Medium level or upward, and willing to lend it for 5 days from Wednesday 17th May, please contact either Judy Cubitt (Paralympic Team Manager) on 0417-060758 or judyc@bigpond.com or Carolyn Lieutenant (Team Coach) on 02-96531358. |
