The Saddleworld Winergy Dressage Festival will welcome competitors
from all states of Australia as well as New Zealand. A three day showcase of competition,
education and entertainment, the Festival will be held at Werribee Park National
Equestrian Centre from 22nd to 24th March.
Friday features the Saddleworld Winergy Grand Prix , a major
selection event for the Australian Dressage Team for the 2002 World Equestrian Games and
the Horse Sports Education Day. This program presents lectures and demonstrations of
interest to equestrians..
Organisers have planned an exciting program for Saturday night.
There will be a special display by Australian Paralympian Sue-Ellen Lovett and her
stallion Yarrahappini Hectic. Although legally blind Sue-Ellen is competing in open
competition. There will be a special fundraising auction of donated service fees. The
stallions APH Spiegel, Capone, Contango 11, AEA Just de Pomme, Rituel, Grand Kavalier and
Magnetic Isle will be displayed whilst their services are auctioned. The evenings
feature is the Kur or freestyle to music. The 12 top riders from the Grand Prix will
perform individually chereographed tests. The evening will complete with a special pas de
deux display by RDA riders Anne Skinner and Marita Hird. There are a variety of options to
enjoy the evenings entertainment , from a 3 course dinner to A and B reserve seating. Club

Sundays program welcomes Riders of the Future and will include
displays by the Australian Horse Riding Centres, the VRC jockeys school ,the HRCAV,
vaulting and other commitments permitting Victoria Police. There will be a special
vaulting display at lunchtime in the indoor arena. The Prix St.George competition will be
the final round of the Fleetsmart Small Tour showing the future Grand Prix horses.
The National Equestrian Centre is a great venue for the whole
family. Full catering is available as well as the Sunbury Lodge Café or you may prefer to
bring a picnic whilst you enjoy top level competition. The Trade Fair will show the latest
fashions for horse and rider as well as the special Dressage Festival merchandise.
