All horses lose body salts in sweat, particularly when engaged in hard work.  Those receiving ongoing training for performance events or racing need the special care of daily electrolyte replacement to maintain body fluid balance and prevent dehydration.  Regular administration, prior to sweating, makes sure muscles can perform at optimum levels.

Horses need more than just one salt. ELECTROMIX ELECTROLYTES & SWEAT™ is bicarbonate free but contains a balanced mix of sodium, potassium, sulphate and chloride ions.  All of these salts are lost in sweat and when provided in correct ratios can improve stamina, leading to better performance.

For light and heavy sweaters simply vary the dose, there's no guesswork as optimum results at different dosage levels have already been determined.  ELECTROMIX ELECTROLYTES & SWEAT™ mixes easily into feed or water or can be used as a pre or post race drench.

PROPERTIES: ELECTROMIX ELECTROLYTES & SWEAT™  is formulated for horses that are subjected to continual periods of physical exertion resulting in body salt and fluid loss, helping to correct fluid balance and to assist in the prevention of dehydration. Sodium, potassium and chloride ions are the three ions that are predominately lost in sweat. Calcium and magnesium play the role in neuromuscular transmission. Calcium is a nerve cell stabiliser. They are major body salts, responsible for control of osmotic pressure, acid-base equilbria in body fluids and the maintenance of electrolyte gradients within the tissues. In addition, sulphate and phosphorus ions are essential in regulating of intra- & extra cellular and plasma cation transport, and phosphate ion also helps maintain an alkaline reserve (buffering capacity) in the body to ensure normal physiological and metabolic function. The maintenance of correct fluid balance is critical to the performing athlete. Most racing and competing horses are able to maintain their acid/alkali balance when provided with an appropriate electrolyte mix such as ELECTROMIX ELECTROLYTES & SWEAT™ and free water access at all times.

It is  recommended to use ELECTROMIX ELECTROLYTES & SWEAT™ on a daily basis, complimented by the rehydration drink  HORSPORT REHYDRATION & RECOVERY which should be used following strenuous exercise to aid fluid replacement and fast recovery. NEUTRA -SYRUP NEUTRALISES & REMOVES™  and/or KA CLEANS & FLUSHES™ are also recommended for additional alkaline reserve and kidney flush to prevent acidosis of the blood following exercise, or where a horse has a history of "tying-up" during or after exercise/

DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION:  
Adequate clean drinking water should be available at all times.

When introducing to the horse for the first time, gradually increase the dose to the level required. One level plastic scoop (enclosed) holds around 45g.
